Bloom 2|52 - Eyes {Jackson, MS Photographer}

This week the theme for our group in The Bloom Forum is EYES! Oh how I love eyes! There's nothing like a photo with clear, sharp eyes with beautiful catchlights! But I also wanted to incorporate my family into the theme so I included my 3 boys...my husband is anti-camera so he didn't make it in of this weeks photos.

I know I am totally biased but I think my boy has the prettiest blue eyes ever! And he is so expressive! He could raise one eyebrow at just a few weeks old! One look from these Baby Blues and my heart melts!

And last but not least...my furry babies! Pepper and Bo are the sweetest Shelties ever! Pepper is painfully shy and Bo extremely playful and outgoing. Pepper is 6 and Bo is 3. They really are small versions of Lassie! They will forever be my babies too! Don't they have the sweetest eyes?

52 Wednesdays ~ 1|52 {Jackson, MS Photographer}

At the Bloom Forum, Project 52 is a year long assignment with one theme per week, each week for an entire year.  We’re given a week to photograph whatever the theme means to us then we all link to each other’s blogs creating a giant circle.  You can start at any person’s blog and you’ll always end up back where you started.  You’ll have fun, meet some great women from across the world (yes world we have international ladies here!) and see some stunning photographs along the way.

Please note – due to differing time zones the circle may not be complete until late in the day.

This week's theme is "morning." Here in Mississippi we have had lots of foggy mornings lately. I snapped this photo Monday morning on my way to work (at my full-time job). These trees are at the main entrance of our subdivision and I just loved the dead trees in the fog. And I didn't notice the bird's nest until I was processing tonight...it's my favorite part of the photo.

The Best of 2011

First of all, I want to say a huge THANK YOU to all of my awesome clients! 2011 was a great year for me and I had so many wonderful sessions and I had so much fun at each one. Thank you for sharing your families with me and for the privilege of capturing memories for you this past year! As a little thank you gift, I thought it would be fun to have a little contest. I have chosen my favorite images from 2011 sessions and wedding. There are 13 images in all. The winner will receive a $50 gift card toward a 2012 session and the runner up will receive a $25 gift card toward a 2012 session.

There are two ways to vote...you can comment on the photo on my FaceBook page in the Best of 2011 album...but you have to comment...likes do NOT count! Bloom Fifty-Two | Week 44

This week's theme is Make Believe/Magic on The Bloom Forum! Of course, my first thought was Halloween costumes! It's hard to believe we have made it to November! We had so much fun this year with Garon's first Halloween and we look forward to all the fun memories to come! So here's my take on the week's theme - My boy as Little Pumpkin!

Saturday, I met up with one of my favorite kiddos for Christmas photos. When I first met this little guy he was two years old - just shy of turning three. That was over a year ago and he has now turned into a little boy. Time has flown by so fast but I love taking this little guys photos...he is such a ham and always makes me laugh! Here are just a few of from our session...Don't you just love his little grin???

Week 40 - Health { Jackson, MS Photographer }

This week on The Bloom Forum, the theme is health. This week the health thing hits way to close to home. First of all, my son has been sick this week with that nasty fever virus. Hopefully, he will be better in a few days. But one of my very best friend's baby has been in the hospital for the past couple of weeks. He had intestinal surgery last Monday and Thursday. He has had quite the complications with these surgeries and still needs our prayers. God has blessed all of us with Carter and I believe He will heal him. He is being treated in the hospital pictured below. It has been his home away from home twice now. This hospital is also the home away from home for children with cancer and a permanent home for some children whose parents have abandoned them due to their illnesses. They even have school here for the children who can't leave. Until Carter, I didn't realize what a vital place this is for so many families and children. This week's post is dedicated to Carter - we hope you get well soon and we pray for you every single day!

This week at The Bloom Forum, the weekly theme is structure. I had a really hard time with this until I remembered we were going to watch my nephew play football tonight. He goes to school where I finished high school. Of course, he's only seven but loves every minute of playing football. Anyway, the kids play at the old high school football field. My high school football memories are not at this field because they had built a new stadium at the new high school by the time I was in high school. We had so much fun at the football games and we have so many great memories. I imagine this stadium and field holds many wonderful memories for students who were much older than me. It's great that the field is still being used today for the kids. Here are a just a few shots I captured tonight of the old stadium. Enjoy!!!

Patriotism | 52 on Friday { Jackson, MS Photographer }

This week's theme is Patriotism on The Bloom Forum! And what a fitting theme as we remember those lives forever changed 10 years ago. It's hard to believe it has been that long. We traveled to Auburn, AL for the MS State vs. Auburn game this past weekend. I took this photo while the Auburn University Marching Band was performing "God Bless America." They perform this song prior to every game (along with our National Anthem)...but, as you know, this weekend was extra special! To all of you who fight or have fought to secure the freedoms we enjoy as Americans, thank you!

May God continue to bless America!

Cell Phone Photo 36/52 - 52 on Friday { Jackson, MS Photographer }

When I found out this week's theme on The Bloom Forum was cell phone photo, I knew exactly which one I wanted to share! This photo is my favorite picture...ever. Not because of anything technical but everything sentimental! This is the first photograph I took of our son and I just happened to take it with my phone. We were leaving the hospital with him. Sounds a little odd unless you know the entire story. We flew across the country to get our sweet boy last December. He was two days old in the picture and absolutely perfect! You can read about our adoption story on our family blog. But here's our sweet boy...all 7 pounds, 19.5 inches of perfection!
